The City of Follonica has created a specific initiative in order to guide the investors throughout the entire process of analysis and set up: knowing the opportunities, evaluating new initiatives and new proposals, creating the right frame of reference. The City is able to assist investors and companies interested in establishing a business or expanding in the area at each stage of the investment process, guaranteeing the utmost confidentiality about the company, projects and requests for information, search for locations and everything essential to setting up of the investment.

All within the planning and the services developed by “Invest in Tuscany”, Tuscany Region and “Toscana Promozione” (Tuscany Promotion). From the information phase to the investigation phase, from the identification of procedures and legal formalities to the establishment of the company, including the relationships with banks, the Municipality of Follonica will be in direct contact with the investors, providing connections and appropriate services.

Incentives and facilities

There are several opportunities in the Tuscany region facilitating the development of entrepreneurial activities and investment, particularly focused on innovation and qualified employment. It is imminent the launch of a range of new possibilities related to the new European Commission programme of aid and co-financing for the period 2014-2020.

In particular, the programme will have a strong focus on innovative industries, renewable energy sources and everything that goes in the direction of the Smart Specialisation Strategies, outlined by the Commission. In addition, the tax bonuses for investments in R & D are available to those businesses that hire qualified personnel covering technical and scientific position and contributions are provided for the registration of patents. Also with regard to the identification of incentives and facilities, the Municipality of Follonica will be the direct reference point to the services for the companies or the investors whishing to know about the different available options.
